United States Army Driver Bar - Silver
Criteria:
The Driver Qualification Bar is a component of the U.S. Army Driver and Mechanic Badge, awarded to soldiers who demonstrate exceptional driving skills and meet specific qualifications for operating military vehicles. There are several Driver Qualification Bars, each representing a different vehicle category.
Awarded to Army personnel who have received driver or mechanic MOS training, and have qualified to operate military wheeled vehicles. Vehicle Qualification Bars are suspended from the Driver and Mechanic Badge. Vehicle Qualification Bars include: Operator S Bar (Special mechanical equipment); Mechanic Bar (Automotive or allied vehicles); Driver A Bar (Amphibious vehicles); Driver M Bar (Motorcycles); Driver - T Bar (Tracked vehicles); and Driver - W Bar (Wheeled vehicles). Recipients qualifying for more than one vehicle-type suspend additional vehicle qualification bars creating a chain that hangs from the badge.
