Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal

The Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal (MMEM) is a decoration presented to recognize service aboard Merchant Marine U.S. flag ships that provide support to American and allied forces in various operations and conflicts. An award citation may be given along with the medal to demonstrate the specific event for which it was presented. Examples of service that may warrant this decoration include: Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
