The Japan Bar, is bestowed by the U.S. military to recipients of the World War II Army of Occupation Medal, the World War II Navy Occupation Medal and World War II Marine Corps Occupation Medal who served in Asian regions following WWII. The specific qualifications of location and date is as follows: Korea (September 3, 1945 - June 29, 1949) and Japan (September 3, 1945 - April 27, 1952). The "German Bar" is bestowed along with the medals above, but to personnel who served in European regions following WWII.
