I joined the US Navy on March 29,1959, and at that time the Dog Tag was notched. Is it possible to get the notched tag of that era ? Thank You. Dennis L Aubart

After 45 years post discharge I no longer recall the information embossed on the dog tag. It seemed like it was last name, first name, middle initial the the service number which in 1976 was the social security account number. What am I missisng?

Well, it depends on your branch of service, but the main items missing from that list would be the Blood Type and Religious Preference.
