Air Force Training Ribbon

Criteria: The Air Force Training Ribbon (AFTR, AFTING) is awarded to Air Force personnel on completion of Basic Military Training (BMT) for enlisted personnel, Basic Cadet Training (BCT) at the U.S. Air Force Academy, or commissioning through the Air Force ROTC, Officer Training School (OTS) or another officer accession program. If a service personnel completes both the BMT and later completes a officer accession program, they are authorized to wear a bronze Oak Leaf Cluster device on the ribbon to denote an additional award. First created in 1980, it is retroactive to August 14th, 1974.
