Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal Ribbon

Criteria:

The Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal (CGGCM) is bestowed upon any enlisted Coast Guardsmen who has three consecutive years of honorable service. This service must be free of disciplinary actions, such as non-judicial punishments or courts martial offenses. If such an offense occurs, the three year periods begins again following the date of the offense.

First issued in 1923, the Good Conduct award is one of the oldest awards of the Coast Guard. Originally subsequent awards of the medal were displayed with enlistment bars as an attachment, however in 1966 this was changed so that additional awards are displayed with bronze star devices.
