Navy Command at Sea Insignia

United States Navy Command at Sea Insignia

Criteria: The Command at Sea insignia is a highly regarded military badge of the United States Navy. It designates senior officers below flag rank (captain and below) who have commanded either a ship or operational fleet air unit. It is worn over the right pocket while holding the command at sea billet (incumbent), and on the left pocket (under warfare insignia) after successful completion of the tour (post tour; COs who are detached for cause do not rate this privilege). A similar badge that is worn in the same manner is the Command Ashore insignia.

The six stars represent the first six ships of the Continental Navy: USS United States, USS Constellation, USS Constitution, USS President, USS Congress, and USS Chesapeake.

Shadow box and miniature medals purchase

"My thanks to Mindy Anderson and the USAMM team for taking the extra time to ensure that the shadow box I ordered on behalf of a Retired Navy Captain and Vietnam Veteran came out perfectly. The list of awards our Captain had in his service record included personal awards for valor and heroism, a Purple Heart, and others. Some of the devices for the medals and ribbons had changed over the years so USAMM helped with these special details. The end result was a wonderful gift to provide this 87 year old veteran who lost his treasured navy wife a little over a year ago. Thank you for caring so much."
