Criteria: The Finance Regimental Corps Crest is one of the Army's 14 Regimental Corps Crest insignias. The Regimental Corps Crest signifies each service member's unique regiment and is worn over the right breast pocket on the Class A uniform. The globe denotes the worldwide scope of the Finance Corps' mission. The sword and quill represent the combat service support role. The diamond shape symbolizes the public funds entrusted to the Corps. The motto "TO SUPPORT AND SERVE" refers to the Corps' mission. The gold gryphon in Greek mythology is the guardian of gold and treasure, thus symbolizing the vigilance of the Finance Corps in safeguarding the public monies entrusted to it. Silver gray and golden yellow are the colors associated with the Finance Corps and are universally symbolic of the treasury and monetary matters. The insignia was originally approved on September 8, 1986 but the design was changed on June 1, 1988 to alter the diamond from yellow enamel to a separate device in gold.
