Criteria:
The Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon is an award of the United States Marine Corps that was created to recognize USMC personnel who have served as U.S. Embassy Guards. Established in July of 1997 the award is retroactive to January 28th, 1949 as long as the service member meets the criteria that they have served as an Embassy Guard for a full 24 month tour. Additional awards are represented by wearing a Bronze Service Star device on the ribbon. For those retroactively awarded, it is a one time only presentation and no devices are allowed.
