Multi-national Force and Observers Anodized Medal

Multi-national Force and Observers Anodized Medal

The Multinational Force and Observers Medal (MFOM) is a decoration authorized by the Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) to recognize international military members who participated in the MFO in support of the ceasefire zone between Egypt and Israel after the Yom Kippur War of 1973. The U.S. military authorized this award to be issued to service members who completed at least 170 cumulative days of services in the MFO from August 1981 (Prior to March 15, 1985, only 90 days of service was required). Special circumstances allow for the time period to be waived. Subsequent presentations of the award are denoted by award numerals worn on the original medal.
