Service members who served in the Asiatic-Pacific area from September 2, 1945 - March 2, 1946 may be eligible for the award if they did not receive the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Individuals who participated in operations during both time periods are authorized to wear a bronze Service Star on their award ribbon.
