"I bought this coin to honor my time as a member of the official Funeral Detail for the San Diego area when I was stationed on Naval Air Station North Island. It is a very well-made coin as I hoped it would be, considering the importance of my duties to the deceased military members. The 1-3/4" diameter is my preferred size coin. The artistic detailed features are exquisite in depicting the flag presentation. The narrative of the flag history on the back, gives the ceremony reverent meaning."

Q&A

I am thinking about acquiring this coin as a former member of the San Diego Honor Guard for local military members that had recently passed away in the San Diego area. This was a weekly honor for our detail. This was during the years 1983 to 1984. We never received any kind of appreciation/recognition for this duty assignment, so I was thinking this challenge coin could act as memento of that honorable duty.
This would be a great way to commemorate this important and under-recognized service!
