Criteria: The gold Valor Device or "V" Device is a decoration of the U.S. Military that is worn as an attachment to specific awards to signify when earned for valor. It is utilized to distinguish between awards that can be either won based on valor in direct combat or won based on merit in noncombat conditions. This award must be recommended by a superior.
The "V" Device is worn in the center of the award ribbon or on the wearer's right when worn with other devices, such as oak leaf Clusters or stars. While mutiple "V" devices may be awarded, only one device is worn per award ribbon.

"I purchased four assembled ribbon racks and four medal racks for a project I’m working on for my son’s friends. His friends lost their dad in a vehicle accident as they were returning from Paris Island where one of the boys had graduated Marine Corp boot camp earlier that day. I decided I would make each of the boys a shadowbox highlighting their dad’s military career in the Navy and the Marine Corps, so they can take it with them wherever their life takes them. I have used this website before to put together my own ribbon racks when I had uniform inspections, so I was very familiar with it. The site also threw in four stickers that look identical to the ribbon racks, which was really cool. The quality of the racks I purchased is nothing short of inspection ready. The assembly was perfect; couldn’t have done it any better myself. The care and workmanship that went into the racks that I purchased tells me someone takes pride in what they do. I’m sure I’ll be using the site again as I’m approaching retirement and will be making my own shadow box to hang on the wall next to the one I made years ago when my wife’s grandfather, a Navy WWII veteran passed away. Side note: every individual ribbon, medal, accessory, or accoutrement asked for a review. I was very generic, and just did a copy and paste on each review. This is the only one I did a detailed review on."
