My Dad passed away on
"My Dad passed away on 21 May and I buried him on 24 May. I left Charlotte, NC. for Erie, Pa. before his ribbons arrived. My Dad was at Midway in 1943 but went ashore in the first wave with the 133rd Naval Construction Battalion Seabees at Iwo Jima. My Dad was fiercely proud of his service in World War II. The Iwo Jima Ribbon looks GREAT along side the rest of his ribbons he earned in World War II and he My Dad would have been proud to have worn them. Thank You USAMM for doing this!!!"
