USMC Ball 2025: The 250th Birthday

The Marine Corps Ball is an annual celebration held to honor the founding of the United States Marine Corps on November 10, 1775. This formal event brings together Marines, veterans, families, and distinguished guests to commemorate the rich history, traditions, and values of the Corps. Central to the celebration is the ceremonial cake-cutting - where the oldest and youngest Marines present share the first slice - symbolizing the passing of knowledge and legacy from one generation to the next. The evening typically includes speeches, formal toasts, the reading of the Commandant’s birthday message, and time-honored tributes to fallen Marines.

Since its inception in the 1920s and formalization by General John A. Lejeune, the Marine Corps Ball has become a cornerstone of Marine culture, reinforcing the pride, discipline, and unity that define the Corps. It is also a moment for Marines to wear their dress blues and display their hard-earned medals with pride, recognizing their service and dedication. For those preparing for the Ball, ensuring their decorations and attire are complete and in regulation is a key part of honoring the tradition. Whether you’re an active-duty Marine or a proud veteran, our collection of officially authorized military medals helps you commemorate your service with the respect it deserves.
