Occupational badges are reflective of a service member's Air Force specialty.
Criteria: General officers: Wear the basic badge, representative of the organization's mission, upon entering a headquarters staff or command position, unless previously qualified for a higher-level badge. Wear the next higher-level badge after 12 months. Continue to upgrade to next higher level every 12 months.
Officers: Wear the basic badge after graduating from technical school (or after attaining a fully qualified AFSC when technical school is not required). Wear the senior badge after 7 years in the specialty and the master badge after 15 years in the specialty.
Enlisted: Wear the basic badge after completing technical school. Wear the senior badge after award of the 7-skill level, and the master badge as a master sergeant or above with 5 years in the specialty from award of the 7-skill level.

"I ordered these to replace my father's broken retirement case that got broken. He retired in 1987. Most everything I order was correct. The Air Force Stitch on name tags I ordered had dark blue Background as the picture. But I end up receiving camouflage name tags instead which are the current Air Force tags. The picture was clearly blue but I got camoflauge. The customer service person said that was all that they had. I rather got nothing than something that I didn't ordered. I had to get the name tags from somewhere else. So I feel I wasted my money on something I didn't ordered. Besides that, the rest of the order was fine. They should remove the dark name tags for Air Force of their website if they do not carry those anymore."

- These badges measure 2 inches wide. The basic is 1/2-in tall, senior is 3/4-in tall and master is about 7/8-in tall.
