Criteria: Marksmanship Devices are decorations awarded by the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard as attachments on the Marksmanship Ribbon.
The U.S. Navy and Coast Guard utilize two divices to recognize Sharpshooter or Expert results on a pistol and rifle qualification course. The Sharpshooter Marksmanship Device or "S Device" is a bronze letter "S" for the Navy and a silver letter "S" for the Coast Guard. The Expert Marksmanship Device or "E Device" is a silver letter "E" and should be distinguished from the "Battle E Device". It is worn on the Marksmanship Ribbon in place of the full sized Marksmanship Medal.
The U.S. Air Force awards bronze Service Stars to acknowledge expert qualifications in both rifle and service pistol.
